This is not to say that the daughters lack the capacity to inflict their own damage, but even the most stalwart of your troops is not built to last. Monsters are as brutal as they are terrifying, with even basic enemies putting out incredible amounts of damage. The damage in Othercide can only be referred to as Ninja Gaiden-esque. Hover over their spawn point to see who is coming, and be ready to deal with it accordingly. This is especially relevant with enemies that are about to spawn. Being able to predict how an enemy will move and act was probably the biggest step for me. Read the codex to determine how an enemy behaves - specifically, which daughters they will prioritize.I feel like I was in a similar boat to you, so I'll share some of the realizations I came to that really helped the game click. But soon you'll unlock a new unit that's uhhh awesome. Don't forget to evenly level up a Soulslinger and Shieldbearer too. This daughter will probably carry you through most of the levels and even boss fights. (Note that generating daughters give different stats). I would suggest a blademaster with high attack.
